Iโve always had a fascination with visual art. Before I knew it, I found myself drawn into the world of digital marketing. My passion for it kicked off in true millennial fashionโthanks to the internet.
The MySpace Era: A Forbidden Fascination
It all started with a forbidden MySpace page. Yes, you read that right: forbidden. Back in the day when MySpace was at its peak, my immigrant parents viewed it as a digital wild west. Much of the Haitian community also saw it as teeming with potential dangers that corrupt young minds. I dabbled with other social media platforms like Hi5. Yes, I realize Iโm shamelessly revealing my age here. It was MySpace that truly sparked my curiosity in the late 2000s. No more details about that era will be disclosed, thoughโmy secrets are safe!
Influencers, Blogging, and “Sex and the City”

As the early days of Influencers emerged in the blogging world, YouTube began to take off. I couldnโt help but be inspired by the evolving digital landscape. Iโd watch countless episodes of Sex and the City. Carrie would type away a quirky, catchy sentence on her laptop. I started to think, “Maybe a career in Communications or Digital Marketing is attainable for a girl like me.” The choice to pursue this path wasnโt always clear, but looking back, the signs were there all along. Creating or being set comfortably in this field is not for the faint of art. This realization intimidated me. I chose (and still am framing) to have my place in that industry. But along the lines of my discoveries, hereโs what Iโve learned. Iโve learned either with my personal experiences or with my professional experiences.
